The sun is getting higher. It’s a sure thing. Even though we are far from being out of the woods in terms of bad weather, there is the promise of spring. The days are longer. There are a few more birds flying around outside. But one of the best things that I notice when the sun gets higher is this; the sun shines through my stained glass window. Yup, I have a stained glass window that hangs outside under the Bungalow sign. It was made by a local artist. He came to my door one day and said that he thought that I should have one. Well, he didn’t give it to me for free, which would have been nice, but he did give me a discount.
It hangs outside in any weather. The young man who made it works really hard. I would never expect to get it for free. Artists take so much time with their projects. Quilters and knitters know this first hand. He uses it to tell clients that they can hang these windows outside without worry. So, we are a test pilot of sorts. If customers ask, he says “Just go over to Bungalow Quilting and Yarn and see how well the window has held up”. Through all kinds of weather there it still is. And it looks remarkably new.
Here’s the snow in front of my shop with the light streaming through the window. When the sun is lower, it doesn’t do this. But, it’s high enough now to shine through. We’re almost there!
