I worked and worked at it until I figured it out. I made a little minky or Cuddle coat for my granddaughter. It turned out pretty well. It’s fully lined, of course, and it’s slightly too big! Oh well, she can grow into it.
The pattern called for snaps on the inside. First I fooled around and tried to sew a zipper into it. In theory, it should have worked but it was more trouble than it was worth. So, I next tried buttonholes. Because it’s so cold here in Wisconsin, I didn’t think that snaps would be occlusive enough. So I wanted to do buttons.
I would like to save everyone some of the grief that I endured trying this over and over. I practiced on scraps. So without any further ado, here is the video that I made to help sew buttonholes into Cuddle or Minky.
