Connie Wahoske lives in Ripon. She is a really great quilter. She is also a member of our discount club. She got all the fabrics for this quilt as a member. It is the fabric from Moda’s “Little Black Dress” collection by Basic Grey. She pieced in all of the curves by machine, but what is really remarkable is the hand quilting. I don’t do hand quilting and so I admire those that do. She does all her quilting by hand.
When her husband was in the hospital before he passed away, I took care of him in the ICU. She sat at his bedside and stitched on quilts. All of my colleagues were very impressed. They wanted me to teach them how to quilt. Well, for starters, I don’t do anything by hand. But, the piecing I could teach.
Anyway, she quilted this quilt by stippling. She stippled by hand. I had to get a picture of it even though she didn’t have the binding on it yet. She’s such an inspiration.
