I am still in the midst of secret sewing. I have been contracted for 2 more books, and so I will be embroiled in it for a while. I always bemoan the fact that everyone else can show what they’re quilting and I can’t. But the rewards are plenty when I can reveal what I have been keeping under wraps.
I have been doing some quilting on my own little personal Bernina. Well, I have more than one that I have been using to sew on, but only 2 of the ones that I have actually have a stitch regulator. What’s really funny is that when I sit down at one of the ones that doesn’t have the stitch regulator, I forget. And, you want to know something? It’s not all that different. I am so used to quilting on my personal machine that my brain is my own personal stitch regulator. It’s like that kids’ book about the magic ballet slippers. The child puts them on and can dance, and then one day she is able to dance and doesn’t realize that she isn’t wearing them. Same thing.
So, here is my first attempt at pebble quilting.
By the way…if you’re reading this and you are on Instagram, do me a favor and go over and follow me there. It’s bungalowquilting, that’s my handle.
I really like the way it turned out. And something else…they’re not perfect circles, and yet, they look pretty good. It was tons of fun and something that I know I will do again.
You’ll see what this is at some point, when it’s published. Suffice it to say, it was fun.
