We had a wonderful time at our scarf clinic. We had 2 afternoons dedicated to making “Minky” scarves. I don’t like to use the term minky because it lumps in all of the other plush fabrics. We carry Shannon Cuddle in our shop. It is the highest quality minky type fabric. It sews up so much easier than all other brands. The plush doesn’t shed save for the cut edge.
So, what was the advantage of sewing this at the Bungalow? Well, we cut the scarves right there at the shop. This way, it was easier for customers to get right to the sewing part. And, we shook them outside for everyone so that the fuzz was not dealt with at all on the customer level. These take only about 10 minutes to pin and then sew–no joke.
Poor Barb. She did all of the cutting and when she left for the day she had Cuddle in her hair!
So everyone set to making their scarves using our Bernina machines in the shop. The walking foot was on and ready to go. Some participants made as many as 8.
When we have a pop in clinic, it is so worth it to come because you get a lot of help with your project and get to sew with fun people.
So, let’s get right down to the pictures. Many of the scarves were made using the Cuddle Luxe fabrics.
