Well I can’t believe that my book was selected for the Fresh Picks section of McCall’s Quilting Magazine. It’s the July/August edition 2016.
After the book came out I was just waiting to see if it would make it into any magazines, and it’s already been in many different ones. It has been in Pretty Patches Magazine, it’s been in Modern Patchwork, reviewed in “Good Reads” in that one, it’s been in a UK magazine and now McCall’s Quilting Magazine.
When you write a book, there’s a huge hurtle to get over. You have to appeal to a publisher and hope that they like you enough to publish you. Then, even after you’re published, there’s always the possibility that it won’t sell, or that people won’t like it. That’s the second hurtle. The third hurtle, if you have been published and it starts selling, is whether or not it will catch the attention of those that can publicize it, and get it moving.
I’m very pleased with the outcome thus far. My second book is coming out next spring, the early spring or late winter of 2017. Personally I like it even better than the first one, so we will see how that one goes.
Here’s a picture of the entry in McCall’s Quilting.
